Arte:¿Qué es Kozmic Hands?
Kozmic Hands Studio no es solo un espacio físico, sino un refugio interior, un estado mental donde uno puede hallar consuelo jugando con ideas y materiales. Vengo aquí para saciar mi necesidad de crear con libertad, sin preocuparme por censurar mi mente; es un lugar donde puedo explorar temas espirituales centrados en Cristo, existenciales, autobiográficos y culturales, o simplemente crear por el puro placer de hacer arte.
Cuando sentí el deseo de contar con un espacio donde pudiera tomar mis propias decisiones, decidí crear Kozmic Hands. Me llamo Claridad y soy una artista multidisciplinaria radicada en Bogotá, Colombia. Muchas de mis influencias provienen de mi crianza: nací y crecí en Los Ángeles, California, hija de padres ecuatorianos y colombianos. Tuve el privilegio de crecer en un entorno multicultural; estar rodeada de rostros, aromas y sonidos diversos estimuló mi curiosidad desde temprana edad. A medida que crecía, me sentía fascinada por la naturaleza, los folletos religiosos, las portadas y libretos de discos compactos, los cómics alternativos y la escena artística *lowbrow*. Hoy, tras una serie de acontecimientos, he encontrado un sentido a mi existencia, y doy gracias a Dios por ello. No he dejado de aprender; sigo inspirándome y experimentando con una gran variedad de materiales. ¿Cuándo pondré el freno y mantendré las manos quietas? No creo que lo haga nunca; no está en mi naturaleza. Por eso creé Kozmic Hands.
Kozmic Hands Studio is not only a physical space, but an internal refuge, a state of mind where one can find solace by playing with ideas, and materials. I come here to satiate my need to create freely, without having to worry about censoring my mind. Where I can explore spiritual Christ centered, existential, autobiographical, cultural themes, or just create for the pure joy of art making.
When I found myself craving a space where I felt free to call the shots, I decided make Kozmic Hands. My name is Claridad, and I am a Bogotá-based multidisciplinary artist. Many of my influences have stemmed from my upbringing; born and raised in Los Angeles, California, to Ecuadorian and Colombian parents. I had the privilege of growing up in a multicultural ambient. Having been surrounded by different faces, scents, and sounds stimulated my curiosity from a young age. As I grew up I couldn't help but be captivated by nature, religious pamphlets, CD covers and booklets, alternative comics, and the low-brow art scene. Fast forward to today, after a chain of events I've found some meaning to my existence, and I have God to thank for that. I haven't stopped learning, I continue to get inspired and dabble into wide range of materials. When will I put the breaks, and keep my hands still? I don't think I ever will, it's not in my nature. For this reason I created Kozmic Hands.
